106th Archbishop of Canterbury Announced
Canterbury Cathedral and The Diocese of Canterbury are delighted at today’s announcement of Sarah Mullally as the 106th Archbishop of Canterbury.
We look forward to welcoming Sarah into our worshipping community and to working closely with her in shared ministry.
Today’s announcement is truly momentous. Sarah is the first woman ever to be appointed Archbishop of Canterbury in the role’s 1,400-year-history, and we celebrate this significant moment in the life of the Church of England, the Worldwide Anglican Communion, and the diocese of Canterbury.
To watch the recording of today’s Announcement in Canterbury Cathedral - including Sarah’s first message as Archbishop Designate - please visit the Archbishop of Canterbury Facebook, Instagram or YouTube accounts
As part of her introduction to our diocese, Bishop Sarah will be making pastoral visits to a school, church, and charities in our area.
Please join us in welcoming and praying for the 106th Archbishop, her family and friends.
