A FRIENDLY TALK
Angels and Demons in Art
Tuesday 2 December, 10:30-11:30 in the Kentish Barn
Brenda Tate-Lovery, a former Open University lecturer, will explore artistic interpretations of Angels and Demons which have featured in art since the earliest times.
From the 5th Century to the modern day, in the context of the belief and practice, Brenda will look at how different generations of artists have interpreted them.
In the vivid imaginations of artists, we will explore how these spiritual beings have become actors in storytelling, stimulating emotional reactions from fear to humour.
