EXCLUSIVE ONSITE PARTNERSHIP CLASS
RSN Day Class: Bayeux-inspired motif
Friday 12 March 2027, 10:00-16:00 in the Community Studio
As part of Canterbury’s links with the Bayeux Tapestry, Marg Dier, a tutor from the Royal School of Needlework has designed a Bayeux-inspired motif for this special class.
As well as learning all the stitches needed to complete this project, there will be an opportunity for students to enjoy a short tour of some of the Norman delights our Cathedral has to offer.
* Bookings open in January 2027 *
This exclusive project is part of The Friends of Canterbury Cathedral's unique association with the Royal School of Needlework, dating back to the 1930s.
The class cost is £185 per student and includes all materials and necessary equipment to complete the project.
RSN and The Friends of Canterbury Cathedral have a long history of collaboration. In 1935 Dr E W Tristam designed a fabulous Friends of Canterbury Cathedral banner which was embroidered by the Royal School of Needlework; this has recently undergone conservation and will soon be returned for display in the Cathedral.
