Online talks by the Archbishop of Canterbury: ‘Holy Week from a Home in Bethany’

This year Archbishop Justin will be reflecting on the events of Holy Week by exploring the relationships, commitment and environment of the place that Jesus counted as ‘home’ for the last few days before his crucifixion.

The gospels give testimony to the unique relationship that Jesus had with the household of Mary, Martha and Lazarus in Bethany. Jesus returned there on the nights of the first Holy Week. It is here he is anointed for burial, and it is from here that he knowingly approaches the danger of Jerusalem.

Each of these online talks will explore and reflect on what this might have provided for Jesus and what is shown in his experience of this household:

Monday 29 March: What makes a home? Home, sweet home.
Tuesday 30 March: What should characterise a household? Hopes for the Household, who belongs?
Wednesday 31 March: What does commitment and care for each other involve? Worth our weight in gold, what does care look like?
