Piano success for past and present choristers

Musicianship acquired as Cathedral choristers stood two in good stead in the Kent Festival Piano Classes at the weekend.

Current senior chorister Mark Lower (pictured right) was awarded the title of Kent Festival Junior Pianist of the Year and former chorister William Inscoe (pictured below) carried off the prestigious title of Kent Festival Young Pianist of the Year. A chorister until 2014, William won particular praise for his sheer versatility in a range of styles from solo piano pieces to the duet and accompaniment classes.

Pupils at St Edmund’s School in Canterbury, the two are both taught the organ by the Cathedral’s Director of Music, David Flood.
