Canterbury Cathedral has achieved a gold award in the South and South East in Bloom competition.

The Cathedral Precincts was given the highest award in the heritage garden/estate of the year category scoring highly for the environmental sustainability of its planting schemes and achieving a ten out of ten for litter control and management.

The assessors remarked upon the use of a mixture of interesting and unusual plants and made reference to the “excellent herb garden with interpretive displays”.
