Cricket success in Canterbury

The Dean of Canterbury Cathedral, the Very Revd Dr Robert Willis presents the winner’s trophy to Steve Gray, captain of the Archbishop of Canterbury’s XI, following a cricket match with a team representing the Vatican.

The home side batted to a 63-run victory over a St Peter’s XI in a Twenty20 match at the Kent County Cricket Club on Tuesday. The series began in 2014 and this week’s match meant that the Archbishop’s XI went into 2-1 lead.

Following the match, the Dean hosted a reception for the two teams followed by a candlelit pilgrimage through the Cathedral.
