Remembrance Sunday Service

Hundreds attended the Remembrance Sunday Service on 8 November 2015 which followed the wreath laying in Canterbury’s Buttermarket.
The civic procession was received at the Cathedral’s Great West Door by the Very Revd Dr Robert Willis, Dean of Canterbury and the Ven Dr Sheila Watson, Archdeacon of Canterbury. The sermon was given by Major General Sir Sebastian Roberts,a former commanding officer of the 1st Battalion of the Irish Guards. Prayers were led by the young members of the Air Training Corps (312 City of Canterbury Sqn) and the blessing given by the Most Revd Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury.
