The Girls’ Choir record their debut CD

The Girls’ Choir of Canterbury Cathedral have recorded their debut CD.

The programme consists of sacred music by seventeenth century musician Henry Purcell, one of the greatest English composers to compose for the Anglican choral tradition.

The recording was made in Canterbury Cathedral at the site where the shrine to St. Thomas Becket once stood.

The girls were joined by the Cathedral Lay Clerks, two of the cathedral’s Organists and renowned international lutenist Matthew Wadsworth, under the direction of David Newsholme.

The recording has been sponsored by The Friends of Canterbury Cathedral.

We look forward to announcing further information and a release date for the recording later on in the year.
