The 2015 International Children’s Choir Festival

The International Children’s Choir Festival will return to Canterbury Cathedral, Monday 20, Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22 July 2015.

The annual festival first began in 1997 by David Flood, Organist and Master of the Choristers, and former American Lay Clerk, David Searles, over 150 children’s choirs have participated through the years.

International childrens choir festivalThis year choirs from Canada, China and the United States will come to the cathedral to sing under the direction of Dr. David Flood and Prof. Henry Leck, America’s top children’s choir expert.

In addition to five mass choir rehearsals and individual choir workshops with each conductor, the choirs will present individual solo recitals in the Cathedral at noon on Monday 20 and Tuesday 21 July and as a combined choir will sing Evensong on Tuesday, 21 July, In additional they will sing a free evening concert in the Cathedral Quire at 19:30 on Wednesday 22 July. The Festival will end in London with a combined Final Concert at Southwark Cathedral on Friday 24 July.
