The 2014 Christmas services have been immensely popular with the younger members of our congregation.
Hundreds of people enjoyed the annual St Nicholas Community Parade which took place in Canterbury on Saturday 6 December 2014. The lively community procession culminated with a colourful and immensely enjoyable Service at the Cathedral.
On Christmas Eve the Nave of the Cathedral was packed as nearly 1,000 people attended the annual Crib Service.
On Saturday 28 December, over 1,000 people attended the annual Christingle Service. Each year different local schools are asked to be involved in the service which is organised by the local branch of the Children’s Society. This year pupils from Bridge & Patrixbourne Church of England Primary School and St Peter’s Methodist Primary School in Canterbury took centre stage and used song and poetry to express the service’s theme of ending ‘childhood poverty’. The collection at the Service raised over £2,000 for the work of The Children’s society.
