Informal Recital by freelance cellist Molly Parsons-Gurr with Christopher Benham playing the piano. Molly began her cello studies in Kent with Anne Smith at the age of thirteen, then completed her undergraduate course at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance with David Kenedy and Naomi Butterworth, prior to taking a place at the Royal College of Music gaining a Master of Performance degree, studying with Alexander Boyarsky and Amanda Truelove. Molly has explored a huge amount of chamber repertoire whilst studying, in many different ensembles but mostly within a string quartet performing all over England. Molly’s first concerto performance was in Canterbury at the age of eighteen, performing the Vivaldi Double Cello Concerto. Since then she has performed many diverse recitals, including an event held by Boris Johnson, an event at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, taking part in the Women of the World festival orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall and in China as part of an orchestral tour, playing in many opera houses and concert venues.
