Canterbury Festival Concert – Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment

Canterbury Festival Concert – Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment

The opening to this year’s Canterbury Festival is a Cathedral concert by outstanding tenor Ian Bostridge with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment in their 30th birthday year. The Baroque programme, played on their trademark period instruments, features works by Telemann and Handel including one of his most lavish motets, Silete Venti. Almost operatic in scale and ambition, it’s a deeply expressive piece: gorgeous music in a uniquely historic setting.
