Sunday 8 May
- 23 May
In its exhibition of 400 Years of Drawing, the Tate placed one of the Cathedral drawings of Dennis Creffield next to one by Turner – a sign of the esteem in which the artist Dennis Creffield (1931-2018) is held.
- 31 Dec
A major new exhibition in Canterbury Cathedral’s Crypt allows visitors to explore up close, for the first time, a unique collection of artefacts – including the battle shield, gauntlets and jupon of medieval warrior Edward The Black Prince, and fragments of Thomas Becket’s shrine – that tell the complex, and often violent, story of Church-State relations.
Monday 9 May
No closures but organ tuning taking place throughout the day.
In this Friends of Canterbury Cathedral talk Leonie Seliger, Director of the Stained Glass Studio at Canterbury Cathedral, and Dr Rachel Koopmans of York University, will update Friends on the latest discoveries and the changes proposed for one of the Miracle Windows before it returns to the Cathedral this autumn.
Join us each month for a fun and friendly activity for older people and their carers that focuses on the health and wellbeing benefits of singing. You’ll enjoy a variety of popular songs, followed by a cuppa and a biscuit! Led by Adrian Bawtree, Second Assistant Organist at Canterbury Cathedral.
