Walking the way of the cross: prayer and reflections on the biblical stations of the cross
Join Precentor David Roper as he leads these reflections in our Jesus Chapel. Unlike traditional ‘stations’, this will be entirely in the Chapel.

Palm Sunday
Join us for the first day of Holy Week, as we commemorate Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem.

Maundy Thursday
Maundy Thursday is the day during Holy Week that commemorates the Washing of the Feet and Last Supper of Jesus with the Apostles.
- 11.00 Chrism Service, Renewal of Vows
- 17.30 Said Evening Prayer
- 19.30 Liturgy of Maundy Thursday, with feet washing
- Silent vigil until 23.00

7 April
Good Friday
On Good Friday we remember the crucifixion of Jesus and the sacrifice he made for us with a solemn day of services.
- 10.15 Family Service for Good Friday led by Dean David
- 12.00–15.00 Devotion and Veneration of the Cross in half-hour sections
- 19.30 Concert: Music for Passiontide by Candlelight, sung by the boys and Lay Clerks of the Cathedral Choir.
The Cathedral will be closed for visiting all day. We are open for services only. There will be no Holy Communion or Evensong today.

8 April
Holy Saturday
The Easter Eve Vigil marks the first celebration of Eastertide. This atmospheric candlelit service moves from darkness to light as we rejoice at Christ’s resurrection.
- 21.00–00.00 Easter Vigil and First Eucharist of Easter
Please note, there will be no Holy Communion or Evensong today.

Sunday 9 April
Easter Day
Alleluia! Christ is risen! On Easter Sunday all are welcome to join us as we celebrate the joy of Christ’s resurrection.
- 8.10 Holy Communion with the Archbishop of Canterbury*
- 9.15 Said Matins
- 11.00 Easter Eucharist with the Archbishop of Canterbury
- 17.30 Choral Evensong with Homily by Dean David
*Service will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 4. Congregation must be seated 15 minutes before the service begins.

Mini-talks
As part of the ‘Fruits of the Spirit’ collaboration with the National Gallery, enjoy daily mini-talks led by our expert guides on the theme of Art and Peace, looking at examples from the Cathedral’s art collection. These are free* with no need to book; please see notices inside the Cathedral for each day’s programme.

Origami workshops
Join in the Easter fun by making your own doves and lilies at our free*, drop-in origami workshops in the Cathedral’s Community Studio. No need to book.
