Representatives and volunteers from the County’s public services attended the Lord Lieutenant’s Civic Service on Tuesday 11 March.
Hundreds of people attended the service – now in its eighth year. The yearly celebration extends the lieutenancy’s gratitude to those who have held civic posts and who have contributed to their communities and the County in the preceding year.
The Very Revd Dr Robert Willis, Dean of Canterbury, welcomed the congregation. An address was made by The Lord Lieutenant of Kent, Viscount De L’Isle and readings were read by Lord Colgrain, High Sheriff of Kent and Cllr Heather Taylor, Lord Mayor of Canterbury. Hymns and anthems were sung by the Canterbury Cathedral Choir.
