Harvest Thanksgiving Service

Harvest Thanksgiving Service

The Diocese of Canterbury’s annual Harvest Thanksgiving Service will be held in the Quire on Sunday 6 October at 18:30.

The Service is an opportunity for everyone to give thanks for the rural and agricultural communities of Kent and the wonderful produce they work so hard to provide.

This year, the address will be given by the Rt Hon Michael Jack, President of the National Fruit Show. As a former Minister of State for Horticulture he has a wealth of experience and knowledge to draw on from a lifetime of achievement in politics as well as produce.

A collection will be taken at the Service on behalf of Kent Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI) which provides care and support in times of crisis for farmers, and all workers in the agricultural industry; and the Kent Farming Community Network (FCN) , a Christian organisation which provides a pastoral listening and helpline service for all farming people.

The Service will be followed by a reception in The Chapter House, which is kindly supported by Waitrose.
