With Christmas on the horizon, thoughts turn inevitably to a time for giving; and, this year, the Cathedral’s fundraising team at the Canterbury Cathedral Trust will be giving something back, as Chief Executive Andrew Edwards explains
‘We want to share with all our donors and supporters what’s happening at the Trust and how the monies raised are being spent, so have decided to introduce a twice-yearly newsletter.
There is an incredible amount of work going on in and around the Cathedral at any given time – conserving the stained glass, restoring the stonemasonry, preserving the traditions of choral music, and enhancing the visitor experience. All of it is made possible with your help and we hope you will enjoy our regular updates.
Of course, as one project finishes there are plenty of others waiting to start! Add to that the fact that it costs approximately £19,000 per day to run the Cathedral and you will appreciate the very real challenges the Trust faces in the current economic climate.
Thinking of Christmas, if you are looking for a unique gift for those who are hard to buy for, or in memory of someone special, why not consider making a donation to the Cathedral? In return, we would be glad to recognise your gift by sending a special Christmas card to your chosen recipient, from all at Canterbury Cathedral, mentioning your gesture. Our regular givers enable us to plan ahead with confidence and might also be something that appeals to you.
Email us at email@example.com for further information or contact us on 01227 865307 to make a donation. We are extremely grateful for your support and look forward to hearing from you.’
The Canterbury Cathedral Trust 2012 Brochure is available to view online. A newsletter will be available from mid-November, either as a hard copy or accessed via the Cathedral website. If you would like to be emailed a copy please ensure we have your current contact details by getting in touch with Juliet Wright at firstname.lastname@example.org
